Terminator: Dark Fate is the sixth installment in the series with its creator James Cameron back on board as a co-writer and producer.

This time out, an augmented human soldier from the future named Grace (Mackenzie Davis) must protect a young factory worker Dani Ramos (Natalia Reyes) from new kind of Terminator, called a Rev-9 (Gabriel Luna). They'll need all the help they can get and turn to some unexpected allies- Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) and a T-800 Terminator named Carl (Arnold Schwarzenegger).

In my opinion Dark Fate is a flawed but yet very entertaining sequel delivering exciting action sequences and stellar performances from Davis,Hamilton and Schwarzenegger.

Director Tim Miller not only recaptures the tone and feel feel from the first two films ,he brings back the familiar premise of the franchise; humans standing up against a seemingly unkillable machine.

As much as I did enjoy all those elements in Dark Fate, I couldn't help thinking this was exactly like The Force Awakens, it's a a recycled plot of an earlier installment in the series. In this case Dark Fate is simply T2 for the new generation of moviegoers.

For a franchise that has been in existence since 1984, it still has no idea on how to be a series and world build. How many times can we watch somebody protecting somebody from a Terminator?

Still, if Dark Fate is the end of the franchise it least it took a step in the right direction.
