Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
It's been a decade in the making, but here we are with Marvel’s epic 2-part ultimate showdown - Avengers: Infinity War.
Most of the Marvel movie roster have joined forces to battle the Thanos, an intergalactic tyrant hell bent on using the power of six gemstones known as the Infinity Stones to eliminate half the universe and restore balance from the overpopulation crisis.
Avengers: Infinity War is a truly an entertaining film. It has humour, adventure, and large action set pieces. Although Thanos is one of the better villains to star in a Marvel film, he still lacks that certain “something” that would truly make him menacing. Still, there is lots of fun to be had.
Personally, I had a great time watching the film. Even at a running time of 149 minutes, I thought that the film was perfectly paced. There are numerous highlights and I laughed so many times, that I am quite sure that I missed some important information along the way. In any case, it seemed that everyone had a “their moment” to shine but in my opinion ,Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Drax (Dave Bautista) and Tony Stark/ Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) steal the show.
10 years and 18 films later, it looks like Marvel still has that winning formula in making truly entertaining movies. Of course, whether this is worth a decade long wait is totally up to you. I had a great time and I cannot wait for the second installment next year.
If you liked the Marvel movies up to this point, this is a no brainer, go see this in IMAX…totally worth it.
