Greta Van Fleet

March 19, 2019

These young men have been generating a lot of buzz over the last couple of years. They have been called the 2nd coming of Led Zeppelin and the saviours of rock

While there is little doubt that Led Zeppelin is a huge influence on the band, have we placed an unrealistic expectation in making Greta Van Fleet the chosen ones?

Can we actually enjoy and or critic Greta Van Fleet on their own merits, instead of comparing them to Zeppelin?

At this point I still haven't had a chance to review their album but I must ask myself, where  does the line cross between influence and  imitation?

In time I hope that we can objectively review Greta Van Fleet.

Right now this band is carrying a heavy weight and whether it's warranted is a whole other debate. Hopefully Greta can emerge from Zeppelin's shadow and be valued on their merits and ability.

But until then, I'll cranck up the volume because it's been a long time since I rock and rolled.
