The Highwaymen is an American crime film directed by John Lee Hancock from an original screenplay by John Fusco that is scheduled to debut on March 29, 2019, on Netflix. The film follows two Texas Rangers, portrayed by Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson, as they attempt to track down and apprehend notorious criminals Bonnie and Clyde.
The Highwaymen follows Texas Ranger Frank Hamer and ex-partner Maney Gault. "The lawmen were out of the Rangers by the time Bonnie & Clyde started their robbery reign, but were commissioned as special investigators by head of Texas prisons Lee Simmons and first woman governor Ma Ferguson to end the robbery spree of the notorious gang reputed to have killed 10 law officers and 3 civilians.
