Introduction
I was looking at some new releases for the XBOX One and I noticed that there was this 8-bit looking game that looked cool. I liked it cause it had some 80's references and the gameplay was similar to PaperBoy which I played on the NES (Nintendo Entertainment System).

Gameplay
The Gameplay is very simple like for PaperBoy. The premise is that instead of delivering newspapers, the main character is delivering VHS tapes.
The character that you play is Marty McFly. Like with PaperBoy there are obstacles that you need to avoid or else you need to start over. This is where this game becomes cool. There are so many different 80's characters that appear during the game. You see, the California Raisons, Michael Jackson, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Thundercats and He-Man just to name a few.
Unlike PaperBoy though, you do not have a limited supply of VHS tapes. You do not need to replenish your inventory.
The end goal of the game is to get to the end where you will meet Jennifer for your date.
You also have a small store where you can buy a few things with the money that you collect through the game. You can choose from a few outfits or characters and also you can buy new tricks. Here is what it looks like during the game.

Bottomline
I really enjoyed this game as it brought me back to my childhood. The game is not as easy as it sounds but once you get the hang of it, it is not too difficult.
The one thing about this game is that it is quite short. With PaperBoy, you had to deliver papers for a week. Here, we only have one run and that is it. For me, once you finish the game, the replay value diminishes a lot. I may play it down the road but it is hard to beat your score once you have completed the game.
I will assume that they will come out with various editions at some point. This one was cool to see the different characters and I also liked the 8-bit Minecraft type graphics that this offers.
Is this worth the 4.99$ price tag? I think that it does. It will keep you busy for a few hours. I can see how this game would fit perfectly on the Switch. You can easily play this game on your way to work. A run does not take that long and it is awesome for a commute.
