Introduction
On the NES, I always loved playing 1943. It is one of the games that I find challenging but fun at the same time. So, on my X Games Console that I just purchased, I saw this game on there and I had to play it. It looked really fun. Let us see if it is as good as the old iterations of the series.
Gameplay
The game is a typical scroller shooter with better graphics. You have your shooter button and special weapon and that is all that you need.
The levels can be challenging if this was at the arcade and I was putting in money. I dare anyone to play this game without dying. It is impossible. Hence the unlimited continues. As long as there are credits, the game lets you move on.
There is not much else really to say about this game. It is basically 1943 with better graphics. Every stage has an end boss and you need to destroy it in order to advance.
The one thing that I found weird is that I was not able to find any reference on the internet that this game was ever released for the NeoGeo. However on the X Games Console, it is a game in the NeoGeo selection screen. I do not know if this is legal or if the company got the license for the console.

Bottomline
The game for me is just quick fun. You can get through the game in about an hour. There is no thinking involved. You just go and shoot everything that moves.
Would I recommend it? For me I think it is fun to play. However I can understand players that find it too easy playing at home. It is true that back in the day, you were limited by the number of coins that you had in your pockets. Players that want a challenge will not enjoy it as much as I have.
For all of the players that like to blow stuff up and just press buttons, this is the game for you. It is the textbook definition of a button masher. I think that this is a very fun game to play and I can see myself coming back to play it over and over again. Even if I have already beaten the game.
