Here we are with yet another set from Paramount’s Star Trek: The Next Generation. The two-part, season five episode called Unification. The two episodes have been edited together seamlessly by removing the end credits from the first episode and the opening title sequence from the second.
The premise: Starfleet calls back the Enterprise and holds an emergency meeting with Captain Picard. Starfleet believes that Federation Ambassador Spock may have defected to Romulus and with the help of some Klingons, Picard and Data disguise themselves as Romulans in order to find Spock and his true intentions.
The Unification Blu-ray is another great stand-alone package that offers everything a Trekker could want. A well acted and written episode that not only bridges the generations of Trek; with the inclusion of Spock, but touches upon the intricacies of the series as a whole. Unification may not be the best stand-alone release out there but it’s still an engaging episode and a worthy edition to any Star Trek or Sci-fi enthusiast’s collection.
