Scooby-Doo! And Kiss: Rock and Roll Mystery

April 9, 2017

Animated and Rock icons Scooby Doo and Kiss join forces in Scooby-Doo! & KISS: Rock and Roll Mystery. The Mystery Inc. Gang, and KISS investigate a series of hauntings at the band’s amusement park where the Crimson Witch is searching for The Black Diamond, a mystical stone that will awaken an ancient evil called The Destroyer from the Kissteria dimension.

Rock and Roll Mystery is the 24th direct to video animated film in the Scooby Doo franchise. The film features six KISS songs, including a brand new tune, Don’t Touch My Ascot written especially for this release. Kudos to the animators, producers and writers who really immersed themselves into the world of KISS. Long-time KISS fans will love the numerous references and tributes to KISS ‘s music, style and business practices in this animated film.

Rock and Roll Mystery also boasts some really big guest stars, such as Garry Marshall, Penny Marshall, Darius Rucker, Kevin Smith & Jason Mews (Clerks, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back).

Warner Bros. must have believed in this project to give it a decent budget. The voice work is spot on and the animation, which is nowhere in the league of Pixar, is still very good for a direct to video release.

So take out your Scooby snacks and get ready to rock out to Rock and Roll Mystery because, “You wanted the best. You got the best. The hottest cartoon in the world: Scooby-Doo! And KISS.

I’ve been wanting to write that from the very start of the review.

The bottom line this is just a really fun watch for both Scooby and KISS fans of all ages.
