Marvel dazzles and entertains us with its films and their latest, Doctor Strange, is no exception. Benedict Cumberbatch plays the good doctor; a world-renowned neurosurgeon who suffers a tragic car accident that mutilates his hands thus preventing him from performing any more surgeries.

As different forms of rehabilitation fail to restore has hands, Strange travels to a mysterious place of healing known as: Kamar-Taj in Nepal. Once there, he discoveries a secret society of sorcerers led by the Ancient One, played by Tilda Swinton. These sorcerers are responsible for protecting the Earth from supernatural threats and Doctor Stephen Strange learns to be become a powerful sorcerer with the help of the Ancient One and his mentor Baron Mordo, played by Chiwetel Ejiofor.

But when Kaecilius (Mads Mikkelsen), an old enemy of Kamar- Taj, returns for revenge, Strange must decide whether to use his new-found powers to fix himself and return to his old life or step up to a greater calling. That of becoming Earth’s mystical protector.

Doctor Strange continues to interconnect Marvel’s Cinematic Universe (MCU) in bold and exciting ways. With the inclusion of this new sub-genre of mysticism and alternate dimensions it makes Doctor Strange is an exhilarating film with great set pieces and mind bending action sequences. It is a great addition to the MCU franchise. Highly recommended.
