Arountable's Essentials: The Rolling Stones

Blues and Lonesome is the first new album from the Rolling Stones in over a decade. So, the Aroundtable has compiled a list of what we consider to be some of the best Stones albums to get you in the mood for this new release.

Tattoo You (1981) - Considered by many Stones fans as the last “classic” album by the band, this album was primarily composed of outtakes from previous recording sessions. Some of the tracks date back a decade. The band was in rush to put a new record together and to promote their American/ European 81-82 tour. The album boasted one of the bands last rock anthem’s, Star Me Up. Standout Tracks: Start Me Up, Hang Fire, Little T&A, Waiting On A Friend.

Some Girls (1978) - The band’s biggest selling album in the United States; selling six million copies. Some Girls is one of most tough, focused and exciting records they have ever made. Making this release one of the must haves from the band’s repertoire.

Standout Tracks: Miss You, When The Whip Comes Down, Just My Imagination (Running Away With Me), Beast Of Burden & Shattered.
