A Year In Review

Another year has come and gone, and we at Aroundtable would like to recap some of the highlights in movies for 2015.

  • Jurassic World - Finding the right balance of nostalgia and its own narrative, Jurassic World is a sequel that is truly a worthy follow-up to Spielberg’s masterpiece.

  • John Wick - If you can get past the idea that a dead dog is the catalyst for a hitman’s killing spree, then John Wick becomes a guilty pleasure.

  • Kingsman: The Secret Service - A witty take on the spy genre. Hopefully this is a promising beginning to what could be a highly entertaining franchise.

  • Mad Max: Fury Road - An action pact, visually stunning film, with Charlize Theron’s performance as the greatest heroin since Sigourney Weaver’s Ripley from Alien.

  • Star Wars: The Force Awakens: A fun filled adventure movie that, yes. borrows heavily from episode IV, but we definitely deserved some fun after the disappointing Episodes I, II & III.

  • Creed: Stallone returns with a one - two punch in this heartfelt new chapter for modern audiences.

  • Mission Impossible: Great action, story and chemistry make this franchise more and more fun as it moves into its 20th year…watch out Bond and Bourne; Ethan Hawke is here!

  • Ant-Man: Good things come in small packages! The most grounded and perhaps one of the most entertaining releases from Marvel to date.
