Deadpool (2016)

Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) is a highly skilled assassin wondering aimlessly from job to job, until he falls in love with a prostitute named Vanessa (Morena Baccarin). Unfortunately, tragedy befalls them when Wade is diagnosed with cancer. Instead of having Vanessa watch him die, Wilson subjects himself to a rogue experiment that will cure his cancer and give him mutant powers. Sounds like your average run of mill super hero movie … Wrong!!!

Fanboys, geeks, filmbuffs, rejoice! Deadpool is the super hero movie we’ve been waiting for. It has plenty of humour, sex, violence and movie references to merit repeat viewings. But don’t worry, you don’t need to know anything about Deadpool or comics to enjoy this film.

I can’t remember the last time I experienced a movie where the whole audience was laughing and cheering out loud, together. This is what going to the movies is supposed to be about. Don’t get me wrong, Deadpool isn’t some fancy Indi movie with deep dark meaning by any means. it’s just mindless fun; plain and simple.

Director Tim Miller and writers Rhett Resse and Paul Wernick are either huge Deadpool fans or they decided to truly embrace the source material. The look, the tone and the pacing of the film are spot on and Deadpool is just a blast to watch from start to finish. Take note though, the film is not for the faint of heart or for young children.
