Welcome to the Aroundtable's eighth installment in the countdown to Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi (1983)
This is the third and final entry in the original trilogy. The Empire has built another Death Star near the moon of Endor. The Rebel alliance mounts a strategic attack on the Empires’ new Death Star.
Luke Skywalker must finally confront his father, Darth Vader and they have their final battle in the presence of the evil emperor.
After the phenomenal Empire Strikes Back, the third installment was a bit of a letdown. The first half is a decent space adventure, but once the Ewoks arrive, the film loses momentum for me.
A decent ending to arguably the greatest trilogy in cinematic history, but the film got too childish during the second half.
