Welcome to the Aroundtable's fourth installment in the countdown to Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith (2005)
This takes place three years after the events in Episode II. The Jedi have been leading a large campaign against the separatists. But, unbeknownst to them, evil is silently emerging from the shadows.
Preying on Anakin’s doubts and fears, Counsellor Palpatines reveals himself as Sith Lord Darth Sidious and entices Anakin Skywalker to the dark side. Counsellor Palpatine/Darth Sidious brands the Jedi as traitors to the Republic and they are to be executed under Order 66.
With most of the Jedi believed to be dead, Vader’s offspring Luke and Leia are hidden away and Obi –Wan along with Yoda go into hiding. Until of course, “A New Hope” presents itself.
Episode III in my opinion is the best of this trilogy. Darker in tone, better action and of course the emergence of Darth Vader. If you only see one film in the latest trilogy, Episode III is easily the most satisfying.
