Rod Stewart, Another Country (2015)

In 2013, Rod Stewart released Time, his first album of original material in over a decade. The album was a hit with fans and critics alike, and it looks like that success has even further fueled Stewart’s creative streak. In under two years Stewart has released Another Country , which is comes in regular and deluxe editions.

Another Country touches on almost every style in the Rod Stewarts’ four decade plus career. There are ballades, rock songs ,R&B, adult contemporary and then you got those mandolins ! The latest release is good album which contains some new modern day classics like Love Is, Please and In a Broken Dream. But the album loses a little momentum at the half way mark going a little too heavy on the cheesy side.

Other than the loss of momentum, Another Country is a decent album by an artist who has nothing left to prove. Stewart gets high marks for trying real hard on creating an album that touches all areas of his career and getting out of the rut of those American Classics.
