There Is A Disturbance In The Comic Book World.

Marvel comics unleashes Star Wars to the comic world. The series takes place after the destruction of the Death Star in Episode IV: A New Hope. With the Empire in disarray, the rebel alliance has decided to continue with their offensive to finally destroy the Empire and restore peace and freedom in the galaxy.

Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, Chewbacca, R2-D2, C-3po and the rebel alliance set their sights on Cymoon 1, the largest weapons factory in the galaxy. Our heroes pretend that they are representatives of Jabba the Hutt, negotiating with the Empire in order to get inside the weapons factory.

Of course things do not go as planned; the rebels stumble across slave workers in this “fully automated” factory while planting charges. Now, the rebels scramble to save these slave workers before the factory is destroyed. And if that wasn’t enough, the Empire’s negotiator has arrived… a certain Sith Lord named Darth Vader.

The creative team behind the Star Wars comic (Jason Aaron/ Writer, Laura Martin/ Colorist & John Cassaday/Artist) have done a fine job in getting the “feel” of the original trilogy. The interplay between the heroes is spot on and it feels like we just left off from episode IV.

My only minor complaint however, is that I wish the art work was a little stronger. All in all, a great beginning to: “ A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…”
