Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers- Hypnotic Eye

August 10, 2014

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers have released their thirteenth album entitled Hypnotic Eye. The album is made up of eleven mostly mid-tempo rock songs that recapture the classic sound of the seventies without sounding dated. The band sounds truly inspired and Petty’s voice is in fine form.

They haven’t reinvented the wheel with this new release, but what they have done is created a well-played, well-crafted non-apologetic rock record that gets better after every listen.

I really believe this is one of the best bands out there and this is one record that you shouldn’t let slip away. You can play it over and over, constantly rediscovering a new favorite song along the way.

Standout Tracks: American Dream Plan B, Fault Lines, Forgotten Man, All You Can Carry, Red River
