Music To Put A Smile On Your Face 2020

Updated: Nov 21, 2022

2020 was a challenging year, to say the least. Thankfully, we had a glimmer of happiness with the release of some solid new albums or reissues. So here go with the Aroundtable’s choices of some of the best releases that came out during this difficult year. Hopefully, some of the music that we put up on the Aroundtable website put a smile on your face.

AC/DC , Power Up (2020)

The band are back with an energized set of songs that pay tribute to Malcolm Young’s creative vision of riffs, rhythms, and melodies. Power Up is easily the bands most consistent release since since 1990s The Razor's Edge.

If you love old school rock n' roll, then there is no doubt that Power Up will put a smile on your face.

Bruce Springsteen, Letter To You (2020)

The combination of Springsteen's reflective lyrics and his backing band by his side firing on all cylinders, bringing back that classic E Street Band sound - with a vengeance! Simply a must have for music fans.

Paul McCartney , Flaming Pie Reissue (2020)

The album that put McCartney back on course. Flaming Pie is a great snapshot of an artistically reborn and rejuvenated McCartney. A definite latter day classic release that deserves to be in your collection.

Prince, Sign O' The Times - 2CD Remastered & Expanded Edition (2020)

Sign O' The Times captured Prince at the height of his creative ambitions, showcasing all the magic that he and his Paisley Park studio were capable of. A must have for any music lover.

Deep Purple, Whoosh! (2020)

Deep Purple's 21st studio album shows the band firing on all cylinders and performing at an elite level. Who ever said “they don’t make music like they used to" needs to listen to this record.

Thin Lizzy, ‎Essential (2020)

Besides the minor quibble of some track omissions, this is still an impressive set that offers one the best career overviews of this iconic band. Recommended for new and old fans alike.

Joe Bonamassa,Royal Tea (2020)

The current king of the blues is back! He continues to push the industry standard to new and exciting heights. Another great release in an already impressive catalogue.

Paul McCartney, McCartney III (2020)

The master is back with an another impressive record to add to his majestic collection. McCartney III ends this dreadful year on a definite high note.
