Introduction

Everyone and their mother knows who Check Norris is. He has been a movie and television star since the 1970's. His first big break was with was with the Bruce Lee movie Way of the Dragon (aka Return of the Dragon).

Every since then he has been in numerous films and also starred in a successful television show called Walker, Texas Ranger.

Although he has starred in many movies, he is not exactly known as being the best actor in the world. In many of his movies, he looks robotic in his movements. However, he did have some good martial arts moves back at the beginning.

Note: This movie stars Lee Marvin. He was a big star in the 50's through the 80's. This is known as his last ever acting role.

Let us see if this movie is one of his better ones or one of the duds.

Story

This movie starts with Captain Scott McCoy (played by Chuck Norris) saving a fellow soldier from a burning helicopter. This of course was against the orders that were given to him. as a result he is very unhappy with the way that politicians and the military is being run and he resigns from his position.

About 5 years later, Major Scott McCoy is brought in to help rescue hostages that are on flight 282. The flight has been taken over by the New World Revolutionary Organization.

The rest of the movie is seeing Scott McCoy, Col. Nick Alexander (Lee Marvin) and the rest of the Delta Force infiltrating various areas and trying to rescue various hostages and prisoners.

I know the premise is very simple and 80's action.

Bottomline

This is the stereotypical 80's action movie with some fighting and explosions. This is the type of movie that Chuck Norris is known for.

I must admit that I am impressed by Lee Marvin. Although he is not seen very much on screen, he looked good for a 63 year old. He looked pretty fit for his age.

The acting is not great by any means. In fact in most cases it is awful. I especially found some of the actors that play the bad guys, really bad. it looked like they never acted in their life.

This is however, a guilty pleasure. In terms of Norris's movies, I think this is one of his better ones. The one's from the 70's and early 80's were even worse than this one. The only difference is that this movie looked like it had a bigger budget.

if you are looking for a martial arts movie, this is not it. There is some, but it is more of a secret operation action movie.

Needless to say that this movie has not aged well and I think that is the appeal. It is bad enough that it is good. This is a great movie to watch with friends and just laugh at the bad acting. It is just mindless fun. It can scratch that 80's bad action movie itch.

Rating: 3 Delta Force Agents out of 5
