The man started with giving quintessential form to the most beloved spy in movie history that has been a challenge to all that followed him. Then moved on to playing the wise mentor, to the new class of action heroes, that again you cannot help but ask how would Sean have done that. Connery had a debonair charm, but he was tough and gritty at the same time. The raise of an eyebrow could convey so much, the sneer could be contempt or admiration, and the smile could be a threat or an invitation for a nightcap. This gave the audience the impression that he was as comfortable splitting heads as he was wooing the ladies, and obviously equally adept at both. Did we need to mention he is 007? Sean Connery is legend in all that he does and truly deserves to on the Aroundtable’s list.
