The Fate of the Furious (2017) - Review
In all honesty, I’ve never been a huge fan of the Fast and the Furious franchise and here we are with; I can’t believe I’m saying this, the EIGHTH instalment in the series: The Fate of the Furious. With the film smashing records and generating the largest global box office opening weekend in history, clearly I am in the minority.
I thought the film was entertaining but it is so over the top that you can’t help but roll your eyes in disbelief. However, what the film lacks in believability, it makes up with in chemistry. The whole cast have really gotten into their character’s skin and really know how to best play off each other. Kurt Russell seems to be having a ball as Mr. Nobody and I thought Jason Statham and Dwayne Johnson actually stole the show. So much so, in fact, it looks like they’re getting a spin off film.
I guess I should’ve known that a movie with fast cars, sexy women and over the top action sequences would do so well. If you’re into any of those aforementioned reasons then look no further than Fate of the Furious.
