Star Trek:The Next Generation-Chain Of Command

Another two part story taken from Star Trek: The Next Generation’s sixth season. There are two stories to Chain of Command first is: Captain Picard (Patrick Stewart) is captured then tortured by Gul Madred (David Warner)while on a mission trying to stop a Metagenic weapon in a Cardassin installation.

The first part with the capture and torturing of Picard is really something to watch. The interplay between Stewart and Warner is truly above your average warden- prisoner relationship. The way the torture scenes are developed leading to the ultimate trial in domination….”how many lights do you see”, is truly Star Trek drama at its finest.

The second story is that of Captain Picard’s replacement Captain Edward Jellico (Ronny Cox), who comes off as an inflexible “by the book” Starfleet captain. Upon Jellico’s arrival the whole crew of the enterprise does everything to get the enterprise battle ready, but in a manner that does not inspire or develop trust getting himself at odds with Commander Riker (Jonathan Frakes).

If you do not want to spend the money on an entire season of Star Trek: The Next Generation, but a need a fix then look no further than Chain of Command.
